Join us for a 2-day exploration of Hamburg! We'll pay a visit to the brand-new Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, set to open in April 2025. This innovative development, located in Hamburg’s HafenCity, blends cutting-edge retail, dining, culture, and workspaces, all set against the stunning Elbe River. Further, we’ll discover ECE Marketplaces’ two standout locations: Alstertal Shopping Mall and Europa Passage. These prime destinations highlight Hamburg’s diverse retail scene and customer-focused design. Alstertal combines modern shopping with both convenience and style, while Europa Passage seamlessly integrates retail, dining, and entertainment into a vibrant mixed-use space in the heart of the city.

The tour is limited to 30 participants - first come first serve!

Price includes two lunches, welcome drink and dinner in central Hamburg. Prices are excluding VAT. Registration is binding but can be transferred to a different person. Travel to/from Hamburg, local transportation and hotel is not included and need to be arranged by each participant. We suggest to stay at or nearby the AMERON Hamburg Hotel Speicherstadt. Rates from app. €200 pp/night.

Program at a glance

Subject to change.

  • 11:50 am - Optional meet up at the S-Bahn platform 3 at Hamburg Airport.
  • We suggest that you purchase a day-ticket (€7,25) to give you access for the whole day. Tickets can be bought at vending machines at the platform or through downloading the HVV app on android or apple.
  • 12:02 pm - Train leaves the platform (travel time app. 35 min)
  • We will catch line S1 to Ohlsdorf, change train in Ohlsdorf to S1/S11 in the direction of Poppenbüttel. Note: when taking the S1 from Ohlsdorf, please use one of the last three cars of the train. Only the rear part of the train goes to Poppenbüttel.

    Trains leave every 10 minutes, so should you miss this train or arrive later you can always catch the next one;)
  • 1:00 pm - Meet up and lunch at ECE headquarter in Poppenbüttel.
  • We will get an introduction of ECE Marketplaces and insights about their assets both in Hamburg and at large. Lunch will be served on the premises.

  • 2:00 pm - Guided tour of Alstertal Shopping mall.
  • The Alstertal Shopping Center (AEZ) opened on November 6, 1970, with 100 shops and 32,000 m² of space, becoming one of Germany's first fully air-conditioned malls. After a major expansion in 2006, it grew to over 240 shops and 59,000 m². AEZ is one of Northern Germany’s largest and most successful centers, attracting visitors from Hamburg and beyond, with 2,000+ employees and excellent services, parking, and accessibility.

  • 4:00 pm - Transfer by metro into Hamburg for check-in at AMERON Hamburg Hotel Speicherstadt (or your choice of hotel).
  • 7:00 pm - Dinner at Carls Brasserie
  • We will meet up in the lobby of the AMERON Hotel for a 10 min walk over to the restaurant where we will enjoy a 3-course dinner at Carls Brasserie, located in the harbor by the Elbe River.

  • 9:30 am - Introduction and tour of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier
  • Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, located in Hamburg’s vibrant HafenCity, is set to open its retail, dining, and leisure spaces on April 8, 2025. The area showcases impressive architecture, designed by 14 national and international architect teams, blending seamlessly with Hamburg’s rich maritime heritage. With 94% of the space already leased, global brands and top restaurateurs are set to join. Its prime waterfront location, along with the new cruise terminal, will attract visitors from around the world.

  • 2:00 pm - Visit to Europa Passage
  • Located in central Hamburg, the Europa Passage offers over 120 shops spread across five floors, blending stunning architecture with diverse shopping, dining, and cultural experiences. Since its opening in 2006, it has become a key part of Hamburg’s city center, attracting both tourists and locals. Beyond shopping, it serves as a cultural hub, hosting exhibitions and events year-round, making it a must-visit destination for a unique experience in Hamburg.
